“Talent is evenly distributed. Opportunity often isn’t.”
In this episode of Informer, Lisa Dolan, Regional VP for Employee Experience at TP and an active advocate for the promotion of contact centres as a career, challenges some of the biggest myths surrounding the contact centre industry and shines a light on the opportunities it creates for people from all walks of life.
From parents and carers to returners, neurodivergent talent and those living far from traditional employment hubs, she explains why contact centres remain one of the UK’s most important routes to unlocking career opportunity.
She also explains the skills that underpin successful careers, why our industry deserves greater recognition, and the role contact centres can play in unlocking potential wherever it’s found.
“We’ve sometimes done ourselves a disservice as an industry….there’s so much more we can do to showcase the true talent and opportunity within the contact centre industry. We haven’t often told our story loud enough and what makes our industry so unique, the journeys people have been on in their contact centre careers, that regardless of age, background, ability, diversity, you can come together in this industry. If you have a willingness to learn, you want to make a difference, want to help people, want to build relationships, the contact centre exists for you.”
